Historically, Molymet has been a pioneer industry in caring for the environment. Since its foundation, the Company consistently executes investments and countless actions designed to preserve and protect the environment, establishing concrete measures to look after the vital natural resources, specially air, water and soil, going far beyond the provisions made by the legislation.

Strict air measurements at ten monitoring stations, voluntary clean production agreements, state-of-the-art technology for every industrial process and big investments, support the Company’s concern in this matter and its leadership in sustainable development and growth with regard to the environment.

The commissioning of the Waste Water Treatment Plant at MolymetNos was a milestone in this respect. Involving a US$ 20 million investment, it is deemed to be one of a kind and the most modern in Chile. This made it possible to incorporate the most avant-garde of its kind to the national industry.

The Company has been worthy of countless awards and distinctions granted by the organizations in charge of ensuring compliance in these matters. One of the most important is the “Award to Environmental Excellence”, which was conferred to Molymex (Mexico) by the past President of that country.
